Rep. Salmon Statement on the Recapture of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Matt Salmon (AZ-05) today released the following statement upon hearing word that Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was recaptured by Mexican authorities.

“The citizens of Mexico can sleep more securely tonight knowing that renowned Mexican drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman has been recaptured by Mexican authorities.  I applaud the hard work of the Mexican officials and American DEA agents to get this dangerous international narco-terrorist back into custody where he belongs.  Now, I urge American officials to seek his immediate extradition to the U.S. where he should stand trial and be incarcerated for his many crimes.”
